Tidy Processor

Purpose

Validates HTML files using HTML Tidy.

The Rust alternative is itidy: tidy’s checks, in-process, with tidy’s messages, positions and verdicts. Switching is tidy → itidy in the stanza header, args = ["-config", "x.conf"] → config_file = "x.conf", and args = ["--name", "value"] → options = ["name: value"]. Files that need tidy’s clean, gdoc or accessibility checks stay here.

How It Works

Discovers .html and .htm files in the project (excluding common build tool directories), runs tidy -errors on each file, and records success in the cache. A non-zero exit code from tidy fails the product.

This processor supports batch mode.

Source Files

  • Input: **/*.html, **/*.htm
  • Output: none (checker)

Configuration

Batch support

The tool accepts multiple files on the command line. When batching is enabled (default), rsconstruct passes all files in a single invocation for better performance.

Clean behavior

This processor is a Checker — rsconstruct clean outputs is a no-op for it (checkers produce no outputs). See Clean behavior and rsconstruct clean.
